Hi,
We're getting new Polar 115 machine which suppose to work with JDF files for cutting programmes. Anyone have any experience with this,? Can I just load jdf file "printed" from Preps or do I need some extra software in-beetwen?
I've never done it so any advice will be appreciated.

You most likely need compucut. I have used it, It's a great program, very pricey. Great for gang run printing.

The price for the Compucut used to be around 8k and supplied by Heidelberg channel. To reach significant efficiency with automated guillotine you can use a tool called Ultimate Bindery which will streamline the jobs to the Polar and will 'pre-flight' the JDF before printing to insure it is compatible with the Polar. You can also automate some settings like when you cut covers and you want to leave some margins for a second cut on the book binder or trimmer.
