Current Apogee Prepress 5.0 user: We are seeing unsatisfactory results converting RGB files to CMYK at the RIP when compaired to converting in native applications such as photoshop.
Photoshop conversion maintains original color and brilliance while Apogee conversion is muddy and dark. Anyone having success (or experiencing same problem) converting RGB to CMYK at RIP in Apogee workflow or other workflow: Please respond.

Was running into the same problem with APX 3.5 and now using 4. It's because APX is using Agfa color conversion engine and Adobe applications are using (by default) Adobe color conversion engine. Because I have PDF-Ready, I could change it in "Configuration" of PDF-Ready in System Overview and it would give me the same result as if the conversion was made in Photoshop. But I don't know how you would change the engine in APX 5.
