Kao Collins has launched Sigma, a solvent ink for HP 45si thermal inkjet technology. Recognizing that a short decap for solvent inks wasted time & money, the company’s R&D team set out to reduce the wiping and purging of nozzles to speed-up production.

Sigma achieves fast curing without external heat sources and increases decap to at least 4-times that of other inks, drying quickly on plastics. Lab testing also confirms a shelf life for individual cartridges of at least 12 months. The Kao Collins team engineered Sigma to deliver high quality results for a wide variety of requirements:
  • Decap: Excellent decap time of over 4 hours,
  • Shelf Life: 12-months,
  • Curing: Instant & without heat,
  • Deeper Black: Improved dye delivers richer black and crisp results,
  • Durability: Light-fast, heat and water-resistant,
  • Cartridges: Dependable new premium factory HP Cartridges,
  • More Substrates: Nylon, PVC, UV laminated papers, OPP, PET, metal, and many other non-porous substrates.
Sigma is targeted to mailing & addressing industries along with packaging converters. Sigma adheres to more substrates, including: films such as BOPP, PE, PET, PP, foils, a variety of label materials, some metals, and many other non-porous materials.
