KM 14000 sheet size

We have a KM C14000 and for the first time we are trying to run an oversized sheet (12.5 x 50in). Having a lot of issues. Seems like the press is concerned about a paper jam that isn't there. If anyone out there has some input on this it would be greatly appreciated. So far service calls have gotten us nowhere.

Thank you,

Dan

I have not worked with KM equipment, however something to consider is that the press may consider paper not arriving at a sensor when it should a jam (either getting there too fast or too slow).

Here are some experiments
1) make sure that the media is cut exactly to the size specified
2) Test the same job on a couple of other medias 12.5x50 to test if the paper is changing dimension due to heat or mechanical stretching
3) Test the media or medias at some smaller sizes 30", 40", 48" working your way up to 50"
4) Test with light toner coverage- heavy toner coverage on one side may affect paper path behavior by changing the friction from one side to the other

Are you feeding from the bypass tray or do you have the PF-812 paper deck?
At what point does the jam indicate? I.e. does the substrate register and start feeding?

He has to be feeding from the bypass tray. The PF-812 only supports up to 35.43" per the specs.

@dundi , we run a lot of banner sheets on our C7090 (mostly 100# gloss cover). We find it jams due to paper dust building up on the rollers for the bypass tray (reminds us how beneficial the vacuum drawers are!) We keep a wet rag at the press to wipe down the initial rollers that first touch the paper, and then the wider rollers that are under the top flap of the bypass tray. We've also found we can't load more than 1/4" thick stack of banner sheets into the bypass at a time. Also, are you pressing "force print" on the touch screen? If so, then either the job specs or the bypass specs are not matching and the machine will jam because it's expecting one size and getting another.

Put in a service call and let them know you can’t runner banner sizes. There is a dip switch setting they need to adjust.
