Hi,
I had the opportunity to test both machines this summer, and found them to be solid devices, each of them with some special strengths.
The KM's output is excellent and in our tests it's prints were the benchmarks. This device (often down-spoken by concurrents' sales persons) was the one which could produce almost flawless sheets from the first printout, with no color shifts, almost identical pages all the time. The accessory list is endless, you can build a very serious beast based on this engine. It's shortcoming is that the paper weight limit is 300 gsm (by specifications). One might try to use stronger paper occassionally, though.
The Ricoh's advantage is the versatile media handling, for it can print on very strong and structured paper by specs. There are a lot of adjustments available to make the prints better on special media like Tyvek. Also, it can output banner sheets (more than 1 meter long). Color is top-notch too, but watch out for the halos near strong density changes.
All in all, I consider the KM to be a high quality midrange device, while the Ricoh is rather a specialty machine, more like a companion to a bigger press.
