KM c1070 - printing on textured paper

We recently got our 1070 installed and are having issues with printing on textured paper, for example on Conqueror paper, embossed or linen paper. Does anyone have a solution or recommendations for adjustments to make?

I'm not familiar with KM's printers, but on Xerox boxes, we have to put the paper setting at a heavier setting than what the paper actually is to get textured paper to print correctly. That usually does the trick.

Hi Rikard, you need to be looking for any settings that mention transfer value, not familiar with that model but we have had four different digital presses all with the same kind of results. Its normally a voltage increase to transfer the toner to the uneven surface, or as Possumgal suggested slowing the machine down as much as possible / thicker stock setting.

we have a 1070 and we haven't ever run textured paper but your KM dealer should be able to help you, in some cases we get machine specific settings from the paper merchant.

We have the next KM model up in a C1085. In the Control Panel on the Press there are a lot features that allow for extra fuser heat to added or removed, or if we need a gloss finish or a matt finish these are automatic features now. We can also use the max stock weight and increase the fuser temp by another 20%. It's a trial and test for some stocks. The upgraded Software on the actual press has given us a lot more functions to make these adjustments. Here in Australia there is a KM Trainer we contact who gives us instant responses on what or how to get around a problem or stock not printing properly.

The KM toner has a higher makeup of wax in the toner, typically the coverage is good on textured paper, but I would say the finish on KM is a bit glossier than most. If you are having trouble with the toner adhering, fuser temp increase is the place to start. This also assumes you are compensating for stock type by profiling the trays first.
