Hi,
We're using these 4 items:
Kodak P0071 plates
Komori LS840S and LS840P presses,
Toyo Hy Plus 100 ink,
Prisco 2451 and Prisco Alkaless P fountain solutions
and we have intermittent issues of ink building up on the metering roller and/or plate scumming up in vertical strips. The Komori's have a unique dampening system which just might not be playing well with the grain in these plates but wanted to post this question to see if others might be having similar problems. We're only seeing this in a small percentage of jobs. Usually just a cleaning of the metering roller or plate solves the problem and we're good to go. Also, sometimes if there's a 30 minute stoppage during a makeready (to fix marking on the perfector or whatever) the plates will become sensitive to ink even though they've been idling with the waters on. A scrub down with gum cleans the plate and we're off and running.
thanks in advance,
Roger
