"Why would you replace Komorimatic Dampening System, which is one of the finest press dampening systems available, with the patented Epic's Delta Dampening System ? "
Komori, in their wisdom, adopted a gear driven form roller on the KomoriMatic in order to drive the form roller at a speed different than that of the plate as opposed to being surface driven by the oscillating chrome roller. Many people consider this a positive development, but I have seen considerable performance improvement in many cases by removing the gears, essentially returning the dampener to its pre-improved state. There have been a considerable number of Komoris in the US retrofitted with Epic Dampeners and this I am sure influenced Komori's thinking, as no one in the printing industry would ever spend large amounts of money foolishly, would they?
