konica C6501 versus Oce CS665 PRO

The Oce 665 has been FOGRA ISO 12647-7 certified. It has been brought up that this may be the only toner press to have achieved this certification.

Though Konica makes the Oce 665 so I question if they both aren't capable of the same thing.

Oce also offers 24/7/365 service depending on the dealer or branch office you may not be able to get this same offering with Konica.

There are front-end and finishing differences too. Oce's PRISMAweb, PRISMAproduction and other modules are very advanced as they come from the high-end of data-based publishing and trans-promo.
Just map out the two side-by-side based on what you want to achieve. If colour is critical; and you want to emulate ISO 12647-2 offset, G7, PSO whatever - the EFI premium package that comes with the FOGRA version of the Oce makes for an excellent bundle (with the right profiling of course).

The criteria and tolerances defined in the Fogra certifacation according to ISO-12647-7, apply heavily to the disciplines that are utilized in the operation of the equipment such as color management, controller and print engine calibration, profiling, etc. The repeatability of the engine is an important element, but it’s critical to apply consistent and accurate methods of operation. It was Océ’s experience in production environments that lead to the CS665 being the first production color printer to achieve this level of certification.
