for those of you who bought one of the 7120/7136 machines, what was the price you payed?
i think the price we are getting quoted seems kind of high.

if you have a 6136 what did you pay?

Everyone's price is going to vary significantly depending on the accessories they purchased. Are you getting quoted on the vacuum feed drawers (if so, how many sets of drawers), or did you get friction feed? Are you getting a booklet maker, a finisher, a post inserter, how about with or without a document scanner, and finally - did you get the KM or Fiery controller. If Fiery, which controller? (see attached) We have three 6136's, but we have a perfect binder, FD, FS, and SD on two of them, one has a GBC punch with FS and FD...all 3 have vacuum feed. Perhaps you can post your quoted configuration and price you received, then people with similar configs can tell you if that's higher or lower.

ya i know the prices are going to vary but they should give you a breakdown of what each attachment and the main unit costs.

all of our attachments from the 6120 that we have will go on a 7120/7136 so we are looking at getting them to replace the 6120 with one of those but im pretty sure there giving us the FU price.

ill post the configuration and price when i get back in the office tomorrow.

sorry for the late response
so we were quoted 40k on just the main unit without any of the add-ons.

Yes, that's definitely on the high side. It sounds like they're selling it at MSRP, instead of the usual discounts they apply, because you're asking them to transfer all of the accessories from the old unit to this one. It's a PIA charge to cover their labor costs that will be involved with disconnecting, then reconnecting, and then updating all of the firmware to make the accessories work with the new engine. Are they also not giving you any breaks on the service since you'll now have older accessories...and/or they're not offering to lock in the service rate for 5 years?

I'm sure they don't want to lose you as a customer, so go and get some quotes from the other big names (Canon, Xerox, Ricoh) and make them sharpen their pencil.

FYI: I used to sell production gear for KM.
