Lazer VS Die Cutting ......which is better for environment

If I was to print 3000 A2 sheets with cut outs, which would be better on the planet laser or die?
So laser uses energy per unit...die uses energy to make form then less on the run?

I am trying to push my client for die so anything I can add will help !

Edit.... I guess I also have to take into account if I do further runs I will use the existing die which would make a difference so the question would be more on something like 10K run.

My guess would be laser as you can laser a considerable amount of sheets at one time.

Just out of curiosity, wouldn't laser burn the edges of paper? Maybe I missed the memo on technology changes.
