Looking for Production System

You guys are dreamin! The Xante Illumina final price will be around $18,000 (not the $400 - $500 - etc.).
I'm telling you - by the time the smoke clears, you'll be paying more for your product than you are outsourcing it for........but......hey.......who am I to quash a dream?

Wow, that escalated fast. I think you need to re-read this thread. No one said anything about a $500 Xante.

LOL it was a $500 laser printer from office depot!!! We do LOTS of wedding/social invitations and I would RUN away from the inkjet suggestion. You will have bridezilla all over you once they get wet. Keep in mind toner devices do not always print well on textured covers. Therefor don't offer it unless you know it will work.

I have a Riso 5500

Use it ONLY for envelope printing.

Does a descent job. Print quality is ok. Speed is good.

Ink is SUPER expensive.

As in "around" 400 per color. So a full set CMYK runs about $1600.00

Ink may be expensive but cost per print is way cheaper than toner based products and the other ink jets on the market run so for 4c small runs it is an option.

I'm not going to get into this one...commented on similar threads before.

If you're looking to do wedding invitations you should check into raised lettering. It's what I've seen most wedding invitations having. But I think you print it on an offset and sprinkle magic fairie dust on it to cause a chemical reaction...
