Hello,

just to get an idea, up to what extent colour can be changed from Magazine ad to Newspaper ad. based on same CMYK colour values from Magazine to Newspaper.

Thanks in advance !

Are you talking about CMYK screen tint builds, images, or both?

thx, gordon p

Well, to get an idea make sure you have a magazine icc profile (such as SWOP coated) and a newspaper profile (iso newspaper or snap profile), load them in your computer (assuming you have a calibrated/profiled display) get a color image, open it in Photoshop, convert it to the SWOP coated profile then go to View menu/"Proof Set-up", create a new Custom Proof condition, device to simulate should be your newspaper profile, check "preserve cmyk numbers" and "simulate paper color", and in View menu, make sure "Proof color" is checked. It will then giving you a visual approximation of how it will look if you don't do a profile conversion and keep the same CMYK value (not to mention that if your ink density is over 240% your image is not suitable for newsprint).
