overprint in xerox cd250?

HI

my clain seend me pdf 1.4 from indessign.
in this file we have shadon and effect... after the print we see broblem in all shadon and same effect in overprint?

xerox tall me "you have apossibility in you'r rip..."

my question is: why in large injekt (digital press) this pdf is perfect (in my large injekt i dont have a rip, i print from drifer) but in xerox we need all this complication in rip!?

why we can thas print a pdf 1.4 like in large injekt?

Do you print from Acrobat? If so you can check the box simulate overprint if you don't have a rip.

but my big question it's: wen we print to ofset print (like CTP) we yes need option for overprint in are rip, because we have 4 plate... but why we need overprint for digital print!?

Overprint in the Xerox is needed to get consistent results. Overprint changes objects appearance in much the same way as multiply effect. So simulating overprint (forgot to mention you find that in advanced dialogue) you would render the same CMYK values as if overprint was active in your rip.

Overprint is often used in rendering transparency effects such as dropshadows. (before transparency some of us used overprints to create soft transparent shadows).

Many jobs do not need overprint, but if you are experiencing that you are not preserving the appearance because you don't have overprint, then simulating Overprint will render the visual equivalent of having a RIP supporting overprint.

Don't understand what you mean by sealed. If you mean opaque (not transparent), well I guess that depends on the device, but it is infact irrelevant, unless we are talking about overprinting black text and hairlines.

Overprint can be used in many ways, in older files (PDF 1.3) it was used where spotcolours and transparency interacted and was one of the major problems when renaming spot colours.
You can easily check in Acrobat pro, if enabeling and dissabeling overprint has no effect, you do not need to simulate it. If it does have and effect ant the appearance of the view with overprint is correct and the view wth no overprint is what you get from your device simulate overprint.
