PF-812 Konica Minolta Banner Feeder

Hello,

We're a printing company in Barcelona that just acquired a Konica Minolta C14000. We'd like to configure it for banner printing and are hoping to find a second hand or refurbished PF-812 banner feeder. We haven't yet talked to the local Konica/Develop people about our options new, which I intend to do tomorrow, but I'd prefer to pick up one someone else might have but isn't using. I'd be willing to ship it basically from anywhere - US/Canada, elsewhere in Europe, Asia, etc. - if we could get it quickly and if we could work out a fair price.

If anyone has any ideas on places to look, I'd appreciate it very much!

Thank you!
Adam

Adam, welcome to the forum
Presumably you're on a click contract as you have a serious piece of kit there in the C14000
Be that the case, you'll need a new PF supplied by your provider. Otherwise, everything that ever goes wrong in the future will be the fault of the paper deck you sourced yourself and likely be chargeable as I'm sure in the small print somewhere you'd invalidate the contract by fitting your own modifications!
As an aside, I don't imagine PF-812 comes up very often on the refurb market, since they've not been around that long and would likely outlast the engine they were originally supplied with anyway.

I agree with @Ynot_UK ...additionally, you would need the "FA-505 PF Connection Kit". Assuming you already have a PF-712, the FA-505 allows you to connect multiple paper decks (the PF-812 or more PF-712's) and allows the paper to pass through the first deck. Also, you'd really want a trained service tech installing this to ensure the alignment of the drawers is spot-on, and installing any necessary firmware updates to allow the banner sheets.
Lastly, in case your KM rep neglects to inform you, there are certain finishing accessories the banner sheets won't pass through (Such as the SD-513) so they will need to come out of the RU tray. Therefore, you'll want to also buy the MK-761 RU banner output tray attachment. If you don't have any finishing accessories that will cause a conflict, then I believe the FS-541 already comes with the extendable banner catch tray, but the tech may not have installed it if you didn't have banner printing ability before. If you have the OT-512, then you'll need to get an MK-761 to extend the tray for banners.

a useful optional accessory (no KM Part number) is a piece of high density upholstery foam to support the exit tray on the relay unit, which can get heavy. In our case this tray doubles up as somewhere to leave 'both sides adjust' output and other random stock when not being used for it's proper purpose

:ROFLMAO: When I used to sell KM gear and would visit all of the print shops in my territory, I always got a kick out of the different custom-made accessories customers came up with...usually for output trays. I saw some pretty ingenious creations made out of cardboard.

piece of paper taped over a sensor on a bizhub post-inserter meant i could post-insert A5 tabs when the post-inserter wanted them to be a4 width. I was happy with that.
