Prinect Configuration Help

I am in need of a prinect Guru. The shop that I work at has just opened new and I was hired to run there prepress department. The prepress equipment purhased came with Heidelberg Prinect Workflow and Signastation. I am new to Heldelberg systems, I come from a Rampage & Prinergy & Preps background. So basically I am clueless in regards to how run this system. I am going to first make sure if we have a service contract for support and also see if I can get trained from Heidelberg. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Definately get some training from Heidelberg. Prinect+Signastation can do a lot of things and both are *really* complex.
The online help (press F1) and the documentation can get you started, but the overall "way to do things" is a bit different.

You are going to need some Training.

The sys is very complex at first look, but after you learn the ropes it's CAKE!!!!

Well from what I see apparently the only thing that is going to be used here, is the MetaDimension Print Manger. Apparently that will rip the files and make plates. Imposition I will do it in Quark for now, I know is not the best thing to do but thats temporarily.

If you plan to impose PDFs in QuarkXPress, be aware of Quark's many shortcomings when handling PDFs.

The Print Manager is fairly easy to use, but all different ripping options can be quite overwhelming at first.
Make sure you learn how to use Calibration Manager.
