Prinergy Trapping

I have a spot varnish overprinting black. I do not want it spread or choked. In fact it is a duplicate of the black separation that is color mapped to a spot color. After ripping through Prinergy the black gets cutback .0005". I know its not that much but it doesn't make sense why it does this?

brdubya69,
The easiest way to control this is probably by setting the varnish color's attribute to "Transparent" in Color Editor. This will prevent it from trapping. -dan

I tried that as well as all the others i.e. Normal, Opaque, and Opaque Ignored, and none of them seemed to work. We did find a workaround in Illustrator. We took the black object and added a second fill using the Appearance tab.
