Print MIS software for small shop

Hello Print Planet,

It is my first post, though I have read through the forums many times in the past.

I have recently left a large printing shop, to take on a bigger roll at a smaller shop.

We do mostly graphic and web design historically but have been acquiring equipment as we sign some larger contracts.

Our main 3 pieces of equipment are a xerox 5000 series with in-line finishing, a rolland solvent roll to roll wide format, and a large rastek uv flatbed. We also offer cut vinyl and heat sublimation to apparel/mugs/mousepads,etc.

We are currently doing about $30,000-$50000 per month in volume off these machines with a staff of aprox 10 (graphic/web excluded).

In the past I've used the EFI products (mainly printsmith) and would like to get some advice from the masses on what program might work best for us. Obviously pricing is an issue as we are still small, and Printsmith can be quite costly.

Any other recommendations? We are currently using a program called basecamp by 37 signals to collaborate and enter jobs into production but it is not made for print and has no estimating functionality.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Clark
