Ricoh c7500 Type X Staple Replacement

Is there a trick to getting the X type staple refill out of the cartridge?
Instructions say to just slide it out but it does not. Is there a release lever? Button?

on the back side of the clear plastic staple housing there are usually two arrows - squeeze them. they're held in there with pressure fit usually. squeezing in the right spot allows you to get the insert out

We have a 7200 and I think all the staples have to run out before it will release the cartridge. There might be a way to force it out but I am not sure. Maybe check with your tech to make sure.
