Hello,

I'm looking for recommendations between the Ricoh C5100s and the Konica Press C1060. We are a small business focused on training courses, we currently run about B&W 15,000 and C 11,000 impressions a month. We are looking at moving to a small press machine from a current business MFP.

If it matters sales vendors are Ricoh locally, and Pacific Office Automation

The Ricoh C5100 is a great machine. I would suggest that you get the better RIP and get 2 extra fusers. This allows you to run Envelops with one fuser. 13 x 19 and 12 x 18 with another and the 8.5 x 11 with the next one. The word digital press is used way too loosely. These are entry level machines. The next step is the Ricoh 751 or 751 then on up to the C901.

I am not that familiair with the Konica. I can only tell you that either machine will be a big improvement over your current machine.

As an account manager for Ricoh I feel the PROC5100s has an excellent price/quality ratio. The disadvantage of this system compared to the higher placed PROC651/751 is the registration. It can vary a bit more. In your case that might not be an issue.

Good luck!

We have recently got a Konica C1060L bizhub PRO and are really happy with it. The colour stability is fantastic and unless you are printing on really bad stock it never jams. We researched the Ricoh and there was not much between them. Both blew our xerox out of the water.

Good Luck!
