Not to be dense but how would one go about using run list auto placement rules with a file in page store named for example: ABC DEF 09.pdf if it's a single pdf with 32 pages?
Thanks in advance!

In the "Automatic Placement Rule" list you add:
*<RLPAGE:2>

* = wild character
:2 = two digits

The file "ABC DEF 09.pdf" would then begin in position 9 in the runlist

Run list auto page placement rules?

If you wanted to simply place this 32 pager into a 32 page runlist, you would need a "1" somewhere in the name. I commonly use a specific string of characters and numbers in the file name when using placement rules, such as "_p001", or "_p009". This rule will look like this (*_p<RLPAGE:3>*) and will accommodate runlists up to 999 pages. Note: you will want to use the wildcard "*" before and after your rule to ignore all other parts of the file name. Hope this clarifies.

Should have given an example . . .

So your file could be named "ABC DEF 09_p001.pdf" in this case.

Hey. not sure which version of Apogee your running but if the "help" is installed correctly on your system you can get a complete list and a reasonably good description of how to use placement rules from the apogee help section. access it by pressing F1 in the client and search for "placement rules".
