Dear Friends
As the Clamps are consumable part in the ctp (more than 1000 Euro), can we repair it, its only piece of rubber and springs.
Do anyone know where to repair it?
How we can know that it's life is over, other than machine warning?
Thanks STSTech
I didn't want to mention it, but for more than 2 years i changed the clamps with repaired one without having any problems of (registration, plate skew, flying plate, Clamp holder and.....).
All i asked is how i know if the clamps need to be change, other than machine counter message.
2 questions.
1. Why does Screen sell repair kits for clamps.
2. Cust get warning to replace clamps. Buys new clamps from Screen and has them installed. After 6 month of use, a clamp flies off. His plate count is 2000, and part is out of warranty. Who pays for the repairs?

The clamps Inspection and repair is very precise procedure . It isn't only the replacement of Springs and rubbers unlike some smart people think.Dear hratchy,
Just to give you advice-never ever think of it- to repair tail clamps, especially for PT-R4xxx. One of our customers put ZERO to the counter in order to stop notification. After several months one of the springs was broken and the clamp flew in the machine. The laser head was in the opposite side and kept alive. The operator told me that the noise and the shaking of the machine was terrific.
Please 1000 euro is not so much instead of broken machine.
Luck!
I had tech inspect clamps and reset counters because they looked fine, he said the counter is set very conservative to avoid any possible problem (and to sell consumables)
