Sierra Server Issues

Is anyone else having serious issues with speed in the last year or so?
We have tried FOUR different servers. NAS with its own OS, a large 5tb that went through OS X Server, the same drive through an ISCSCI, and now, finally Windows 2012 Server.
We put in SSD drives and thought all of our worries would be over. NOT.
I have read a LOT of fixes to the SMB, but nobody really has it nailed down. I am wondering what others out there are doing?

You titled the thread Sierra Server issues so are you having problems with Mac OS Sierra server or just problems from Mac OS Sierra connecting to all of the types of network shares you listed? We are running Mac OS Sierra on all of our Macs. We have some network shares on a Netgear ReadyNas Pro using SMB and some shares on a Windows 2008 R2 server and some more on a Windows 2012 R2 server also with SMB and aren't seeing any issues. What problems exactly are you seeing?

We are currently hooked up to a Windows 2012 server with brand new RAID of SSDs. We have tried TWO NAS in the past 15 years. It has been a steady decline and has STUNK. Finally had a boy genius that duplicated all of our files into a "sandbox" folder on the main section of the server. He ran a routine on the sandbox that removed all of the Apple crap that is not needed. For some UNKNOWN reason, all is good in the world now. We are screaming fast. The SSDs had NOT fixed the problem whatsoever until he did this. We have no idea why it worked.
