Task Management software

Hi All,
I'm a prepress supervisor and because my team has been downsized leaving me stuck with heaps of workload.
I'm looking for a free version of a task management software which I can use as a virtual display board so that my day go as planned rather than being interrupted.
Any ideas on what could be the best software for my purpose?
I have Trello in mind but anyone's got any suggestions?

I'd check out Trello as well. I liked that it could be tracked with a mobile app as well so I wasn't tied to my computer to update it.

I tried Trello a few years ago and it had several problems that made me drop it after a few months. As I recall:
  • It's VERY hard to extract data from it. Likewise with importing into it. (jSON is not for anyone but programmers.)
  • I have an older OSX machine running Firefox as a browser, and the Trello people "modernized" their program so much that it was not functional on my pet machine after awhile.
I consider it a valiant attempt on their part that was tripped up by their worship of the idol of Up-to-date.

I'm not going to throw this computer away simply because so many other folks believe the myth that backwards compatibility is socially evil in that it doesn't force people to choose between (a) small "improvements" in utility or (b) thrift.

This.
Any program using proprietary data storage should be approached with trepidation.

The "Idol of Up-To-Date"
Can I quote you?
This is ripe for a comedy routine.
Where's George Carlin when you need him?

Another vote for Trello here. It has been improved a lot over the last year or two that we've been using it. We have the paid-for Business subscription, but the free version did nearly everything we want and certainly allowed us to do a good evaluation.

If you need print industry-specific software, I would suggest Vism. Although it primarily simplifies printed graphics installation management, you can use it for your tasks management and improve planning.
