Tips on printing gradients on Xerox 5000?

I am having major difficulties with gradients. I am getting the usual banding of colors. Can anyone offer up any suggestions for printing smooth seamless gradients? I tried adding noise to the gradient, which helped, but with limited success.

Break the gradient into smaller steps. Change the halftone screen. Calibrate.

I tried breaking the gradient up into multiple color markers and it yielded the same results. We calibrate our machine several times a day too. However, I did not change the halftone screen. Thanks Craig

you might try rasterizing just the gradient in photoshop and adding a bit of noise.
