toner based coated paper for Ricoh C900S

Does Ricoh have any special requirements for coated papers in the 900S?
I am told a paper supplier is suggesting that only one product, Futura, is certified for this printer.
Anyone hear of this?

That is not true. Ricoh publishes a recommended media guide that is over 150 entries long. (I don't know offhand how many are coated stocks.) The media guide states what machine settings to use for optimum rseults. There is also a process for testing, and a process for using, papers that are not on the list. NewPage Futura is on the list, and is known to give good results.

When you say coated what finish and weight do you want to run ?

If you want the whole list I would call your local Ricoh office and tell your account rep to send it to you.
