Tracking my paper warehouse

I'm wondering what software systems are available to keep inventory of paper rolls and stacks other than the primitive and inaccurate spreadsheet currently in use here.
I'm considering a custom Filemaker build. Just wondering how you might handle it.

Our customers handle it using the Stock module of the Accura Print MIS, fully integrated into the base MIS and Purchasing and Job Costing modules and the online storefront and W2P system.
