Trapping Software, any advice?

I currently use Deskpack plugins for Illustrator (by Esko) for all my trapping. Works pretty slick and have very few issues. If you wanted to move away from Esko please check out Realpro Toolkit. I've just researched this myself and it has VERY similar features to Deskpack.
Good luck!

Another option could be:

MaxPro Trapping (making use of the old RIPED linework/contone model, rather than early vector traps).

It can be hard to find trapping software on a budget, as these days there are not too many stand alone solutions, trapping is now often a part of a larger workflow product.
