Twin Rivers Paper Company has received FSSC-22000 Certification for their Food Packaging papers—Acadia, EcoBarrier & EcoInfuse brands—manufactured at their NY-based, Lyonsdale, Mohawk Valley and Mill Street mills.
FSSC 22000—a food safety certification developed to improve consistency & integrity throughout the food safety supply chain—provides a rigorous system to manage food safety risks & provide safe products for use in the food industry. Achieving certification is a stringent process: Twin Rivers began filing for certification in 2018, involving many months of documented information, training sessions and internal audits.
According to Twin Rivers, “Statistics show that approximately 1 out of 4 companies are asking suppliers to achieve FSSC Certification. Customers who purchase food at restaurants such as McDonald’s or BURGER KING can be assured that food safety is an integral part of the production process—starting with raw materials and ending with finished food packaging”.
