Use both NIC ports on Windows 2003 Server

Most Win servers come with two NIC cards with typically one being used for the internet and the other for the intranet. As we are only using one NIC card currently I'm wondering if I can increase network speed by utilizing both NIC cards on the intranet. Use one for incoming data to the server and the other for outgoing data from the server to our network.

Anyone have any ideas if this is even possible?

Using both NIC's on your network is possible. It doesn't happen how you described though. What you will end up in doing is called Link Aggregation Link aggregation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. You will need to configure your switch to allow for this as well as crating a "Bridge Connection" on your Windows Server. The Bridge connection takes both NIC's and allows Windows to treat them as one.
