Winner of Ultimate Toon Contest Announced


Tim Ehrenberg of Ehrenberg Publishing Cops Awarded 1-year Impostrip Automation subscription

Ultimate CEO Julie Watson has announced a winner in the Ultimate ‘Toon Contest, which has run on for the past six weeks and featured five legacy cartoons from Gordon Pritchard’s RE:print series. Winner Tim Ehrenberg of Ehrenberg Publishing Co., in Appleton, MN voted for “Realization”, won the drawing and will receive a one year Impostrip Automation subscription from Ultimate TechnoGraphics.

Said Ehrenberg: “This was a fun contest to enter, Gordon always has great cartoons. I’m looking forward to using Impostrip for a year, it will definitely help us out in our prepress department.”

Watson commented: “I’m sorry we don’t let customers in the press room” is indeed a great toon and I am not surprised it was the most voted for toon from Gordon Pitchard in this contest.” says Julie Watson CEO of Ultimate TechnoGraphics. “These toons are a great way to remember why we love our industry and it’s a combination of all these different stories which makes our industry so unique. At Ultimate we are passionate about what we do, and so are our customers, and this is why we knew we could all find a way to relate to and have a good laugh with these toons.”

Gordon Pritchard, creator of our RE: Print series, has presented at print technical conferences and trained printers and buyers regarding print quality issues in Europe, North America, and S.E. Asia. Gordon also co-authored a TAGA paper on halftone screening, wrote BRIDG's guide to halftone screening and many articles in trade journals. Formerly Print Quality Manager for 11-years at Creo/Kodak, he has also held positions as Technical Director of Western Canada's largest commercial sheetfed shop, Professor of Digital Graphic Design at Emily Carr University and the former Creative Director at McCann Ericksson Vancouver.
