Xerox PrimeLink C9200

Looking for some feedback on the new Xerox PrimeLink C9200.

Is it a true production printer or is it just another glorified copier?

The price we have been quoted is pretty close to the Versant 280 basic config. The specs look impressive on paper! Since it's newly launched, there aren't many around I guess.

We recently updated v80 to v280 and during the negotiations this c9200 was mentioned. I didn't get pricing but sample prints were great. I felt it was a glorified copier. For us it wouldn't have worked as speed is very slow. I asked a tech and he said none had been sold here yet in Ireland but they didn't have confidence in it's ability, especially on the heavy card stocks.

I'm guessing the "380 & 5100" aren't very far off, as the 9200 boasts some "Iridesse" technologies. One can imagine that same tech is finding its way to the Versants soon enough.
