Hi,

We are contemplating of going in for Xrite's Easytrax for improving color consistancy in our priting. The machines will be Mitsubishi Diamond 3000 5 color and Heidelberg XL75 6 color. Shall appreciate guidance from this community.

Easytrax is Intelitrax's cheaper brother. Easytrax is semi automatic and the operator must position the reading head manually for every read. On the plus side you can place your colour bar at the gripper-middle or tail of the sheet. Easytrax seems to be aimed at the smaller (up to 40") market. you can position the reading head on spot colours to check Spectro. I think the prices are around $11,000 plus you need a computer. Intelitrax has to have the colour bars at the gripper or tail and the operator does not need to align the head every read, this unit is targeted at the 40"+ market mainly I think because it has a self aligning scanning head to detect the center of the bar which on larger sheets may give Easytrax an issue. Intelitrax reguires that you have a Densitometer/Spectrophotometer attached whereas Easytrax comes with a built in one. They both will serve your purpose but if you are in a high volume production environment Easytrax might be a bit too slow but it will certainly be a lot cheaper than the Intelitrax which may set you back up to $25,000 if you have to buy a xrite 530 Spectro unit
