looking to upgrade my HP5500 and HP5000
Is anyone using the z6100 with heidelberg room workflow? (delta 8.7)
whats the advantages of having 1.7 support?
thanks

AFAIK, Delta 8.7 might not have direct support for zXXX series, so you will need to test compatibility by using HP5000 series driver.
Definitely 8.7 hase latest CPSI available for Delta generation. There will be no further development.

Looks like I shouldnt even upgrade if because there will be no future upgrades for Delta is that what Im hearing, How is everyone using delta as a ROOM workflow if they discontinue, I dont see how it could be a ROOM workflow in the future, are users adding a 2nd rip station or a shooter to get there proofs out to other devices that Heidleberg drivers do not support. I really have no intention of changing workflows,
been a user of heidelberg workflow for 10 years works great and prinect signa is also great imposition
software, any advice would be helpful as I do need to upgrade my impostion printers.
thanks

I am really sorry, to distribute wrong information.
Delta 8.7 DOES support Z6100. Here is excerpt of Delta 8.7 manual:

User manual 8.7:
Delta Technology 8.7: Support of HP Designjet Z6100 Proofer
Delta Technology 8.7 additionally supports the HP
Designjet Z6100 proofer.
Specialties when printing on the HP Designjet Z6100 Proofer
In the „Formproofer Setup“ window under „Type“
you can select between two entries for this printer:
0 Mode: HPDesignJet Z6100Rtl:
The output data are screened as CYMK Bitcode by
Delta Technology and sent to the printer (like the
HP 1050 etc).
0 Mode: HPDesignJet Z6100Contone:
The output data are sent as CMYK Byte code (32Bit
per Pixel) („contone data“) to the printer. The
screening is performed in the printer.
Note: In the HPDesignJet Z6100 contone mode the
output is done with 8 Bit per color and the resolution
value is not equal to the screening resolution in the
HPDesignJet Z6100Rtl mode. The resulution value corresponds
to the resolution being used for generating
the contone data.
