Cleaning scratches on matte lamited prints

We have a hard book job whose covers are matte Laminated. However, after binding on a casemaker, some scratches have appeared during traveling in the machine. Is there a way to clear them? On gloss laminated covers this does not happen. This more prominent if the colours are dark.
Any tip is appreciated.
