I am kind of new to the web press and I find it odd that our pressmen here print to the very side of the roll, they cut the bleed off on one side by printing on the very edge. Is this so the cutters don't have to cut this side of the sheet? Is this a common practice, not to center the image on...

I agree with Stephen, you will get a much smaller PDF if you create a postscript file and distill it using the smallest file size in distiller.

I currently have both in the marks folder now (an eps and a pdf). Same result. In Preps when I say add custom mark, I can't see any PDF's in the marks folder it is only seeing the eps files. My only options are EPS file or TIFF's.

I got it, for some reason the Mac's lost the host file of the Agfa server. I added the IP and the AXServer in the terminal and the client started right up. Strange that all macs lost it at the same time.

After a server restart our MAC Clients are getting this error (see attached). We use the clients on the PC's but not the MAC's.

Im a suitcase fan! I have used Suitcase and Suitcase server. Just remember, if you are loading fonts onto your mac put them in the users folder library not the systems library folder.

I am using an Epson 7880 for hi-res proofs out of ApogeeX and every now and then it will print out a hex dump... one time it did this overnight and it finished off a whole roll of paper. It kind of looks like postscript. I am guessing it is coming from the agfa server but I cannot verify this...

Spectro Spectro I did this last year... They send you back a new calibration strip with your unit. I think it says on there how long you should go before re-certification.

I am looking to send ink keys out to our Sanden. Is anyone doing this currently with this machine? I am wondering if I can transfer the keys on a floppy. I am looking for information on the ink keys setup ie. DPI. Thanks!

XMPie XMPie We do a lot of variable printing. We use XMPie, it will even impose for you so you can use 12x18 or what ever the largest sheet your digital press can run.
