Morgana FRN Non Start

Hi.

I have a morgana FRN that has just stopped working - with help from the service manual we have narrowed it down to the System Switch - anyone brighter than me decipher the wiring diagram and tell me which wires to jump to prove the switch before I spend £200 on the switch.

I have attached the wiring diagram.

Thanks
Chris

Just by looking to the diagram and not being familiar with these machines in any way.
- a 'system switch' would be suspect only if smelling burnt or obviously damaged
- I assume you checked both fuses and see voltage coming into the control board, pins 1 (live), 2 (neutral)
- it seems, just seems the control board outputs mains live to the pin 23 going through the wire 18 into P5 on the switch. You didn't mention what type/model of switch it is so I cannot fully understand the role of P5 there. Clearly P1 is live, P2 neutral, they both connect to P3 live and P4 neutral respectively, but I'm not quite sure what the P5 does. And this P5 may be your problem.
Other than that make sure the guard switches (both in series) are working, they seem to be magnetic type so you could just jumper pins 18 and 19 on the control board briefly to verify that, or simply check for continuity with an ohmmeter between 18 and 19 you should see zero ohms i.e. closed circuit if reed magnets are good.
It looks like the control board outputs live mains towards the P5 if specific conditions are met i.e. interlock system works, guard switches and IR barrier.

Thanks for replying.

The system switch is a Schurter TA45 ABCWFC00E2

P5 is the latching coming through terminal 23 which enables the switch to latch closed.

Everything seems to be present that it needs to run, and when I actually check continuity between the switch terminals there is none, I am almost 100% certain the switch is burnt out.
