easy to use software for photocalendars??

Is there any easy to use (simple) program for making photocalendars? I'm looking for something that I can put on my website (digital printing company) with only a few options for the clients to pick from.

what new equipment to look out for in 2012?

There are quite a few issues :) Generally there is a solution for most of the problems we've been having with digital print, but the answer is usually spending a few hundred thousand more on equipment, or using more expensive paper :) I'm mainly just looking for something print-related , that I...

what new equipment to look out for in 2012?

Is anything exciting being released in 2012? Digital, large format or offset, that will bring something new to the table. We're looking into a few new investments in terms of equipment, but maybe we're missing something that's soon to come out :)

Most complete MIS, Web2Print for digital/large format printing?

After reading all the posts I could find on the board and trying out some demos, I still haven't found a program that would be an "all in one" solution for a printing company such as mine. We offer digital and large format printing + graphic design in house. Offset printing is outsourced to 2-3...

a digital print shop in a shopping mall?

a two month lease isn't an option, because they only sign long term contracts there. Half a year would be great to check out the market, but that won't really be an option either. On the other hand, I can probably just change it into a clothing shop or something else if it doesn't pull through...

a digital print shop in a shopping mall?

rent would be steep. I would be printing very close to the mall, so I could easily have someone run up there with prints every hour or so if needed. One average class color unit and a b&w one could be on the spot for copying, scanning etc. High quality stuff would be done a few minutes walk...

a digital print shop in a shopping mall?

This is kind of what I was thinking. Business cards in minutes, posters, flyers, scanning done on the spot. I guess I could add fancy paper and personalized gifts to the offer. This is one of the other reasons I'm considering it. Many orders could come out later from clients that saw the shop...

a digital print shop in a shopping mall?

I'm considering setting up a digital print shop in a shopping mall (large format and offset would be transported there from our place). Do you think it's worth getting into? Any tips for other business ideas that could go well with this project? (stamps, coffee etc.) There are no places like...

    reselling a workflow solution?

I'm still trying to figure out a workflow solution that would benefit our company. We run offset, digital and large format units. My question is, if the workflow we get into doesn't quite do it for us, can we resell it after a few months or so? The thing is that I'm worried a demo won't really...

so what will be the next new thing in the printing industry?

just relaxing after another crazy day and I thought I'd ask around to see what the new trends will be in late 2010/early 2011. Any new units that will change production in some way? I need something interesting to read about :)

Converting an OKI C9800 into a Xante Ilumina?:)

yes, I replaced the transfer belt and that helped out with the banding, but from what I've seen it gets used up much faster than the % you see.

Converting an OKI C9800 into a Xante Ilumina?:)

and if you look around you can get a good used one on a pay per click contract. Much better option in my opinion.

Converting an OKI C9800 into a Xante Ilumina?:)

well I'm not sure if it was my unit or something common for these devices, but I had problems with gloss stock. I could never get a clear white background on gloss. It made marks on the prints. Especially on thicker stocks. I tried replacing a few things, but it didn't help much. Anyway, do you...

Converting an OKI C9800 into a Xante Ilumina?:)

I used 350 matt on my unit, but it was a bit too much. The colors would come off if the coverage was heavy and the machine got quite a beating in the long run. With a pay per click contract you might run into trouble if the drums get ruined much faster than acording to the specs. They might even...

running it through a 4 color offset works even better ;)

    Offset Paper and Digital Machines

digital paper runs better, but it all depends on the machine and how you work things out with the technicians. Some machines can handle certain kinds of offset stock, some can't.

vehicle vectors / programs to help designing large format prints on cars ?

How can I make it easier for my designers when it comes to designing artwork for wrapping cars? We're only starting to get into this part of the business and I'm looking into software and vector images that could help us with this. The only ones we did so far were simple vinyls (mainly for...

    Digital printing machine

I wouldn't go into any machine from the OKI line unless you can get it under some kind of pay per click contract. I know something about this, because I have two (c9800 and c9650) that I've used over the past year or so. Unless you plan on printing business card with little coverage, the cost...
