    Corona Treater Alarm

Followup, We wired the Alarm in but also 1 year later had to put in a flashing light as well and rewire both to sound off if the corona treater had a fault for any reason Seems the Alarm was only set to trigger if the treater itself failed, but if the power to the device failed, the alarm would...

    Corona Treater Alarm

We have a quality situation that I wont go into, but we have been advised by a sister plant that we need an sound alarm system for our corona treater on a Mark Andy press to alert the operator is the corona treater fails or doesnt meet voltage. I have never seen an alarm other than warning LED...

    Flexo repeatability issue

Cornish: We have a "mike" meter (I am Graphics, not press, so I have no idea what that is) and am assured the Anilox are measured. As for cleaning, We have a cleaning machine, but not a ultrasonic type. Again unsure of maintenance schedule. the Press has LED curing lights for the UV ink. We...

    Flexo repeatability issue

Steve; The measuring conditions are exactly the same. using the same setup, inks, anilox etc, our SID dE can be greater than 4 or as high as 12. or very close. There is no predictability. The 100/100/100 is not extremely important but definitely throws off the 50/75 patches. Unfortunately, we...

    Flexo repeatability issue

Not sure this is the correct forum. We are having issues with repeatability on a Flexo press with a Shrink material. The issue is repeatability of the SID targets from one run to the next. Wondering if anyone has any insights. We print highly decorative cosmetic shrink labels. We have Esko...

Stepped Images not having identical dot structures (follow-up on another forum)

Thanks everyone for your responses. Gordo I will have to look up the blind elephant man syndrome. sorry for the confusion. You would one of the reasons I posted it here as you have had great insight into color in the past for me. Steve, the image to image hue shift followed the plates. Till, We...

    Gray Balance consistency run

Thank you all for your responses to my posting, given that I didn't add all the data needed for everyone. The photo without the glare was near impossible and I didn't take time to find a way to do it properly. Possibly I named this incorrectly as it was not a gray balance test as such, but a...

Why would a printer not want to receive a layered PDF?

On a different note: We require layered PDFs. Flattened PDFs do us no good. (in our print environment) The situation that started this was how often we received flattened PDFs that were absolute garbage for output. by having the layered, we can at least determine what is intended.

    Gray Balance consistency run

To resolve a print inconsistency we are encountering, we created a full AR/AC box of 50/40/40 and ran it on the narrow web press. This test was to see if the color varied or if the press could hold a grey balance. We ran the test and the results were brought back to Graphics for review. I can...

Stepped Images not having identical dot structures (follow-up on another forum)

In investigating a inconsistent print issue, an extreme fine view was put on the dot pattern of our Stepped images. The outside expert said these stepped images should be identical dot for dot. I have to admit I cannot remember from my experience if we always had 1 to 1 dots on stepped images...

    Inconsistent Print a stepped image

We are having issues on a narrow web, P9 Markandy, Subsurface print on clear, 4 AR. Dupont DFUV, UV Inks. LED UV Curing lights. Plates stepped using an ESKO Imaging Engine 18.1, imaged on a Esko CDI. On the first step image we get a heavy magenta as you can see from the photos. (Thats the...

    Esko AE Adjust PDF angles

Looking for a way to adjust the angles of Spot colors like you can process colors in the Imaging ticket or the Adjust PDF ticket. In the old Nexus, you could default set the CMYK angles and then <spot1> <spot2> etc Doesnt seem to work in AE. Was hoping they would put it back in 18.1. Obviously I...

    Auto populate the Ink Tab

Ok update for anyone that is still interested in this topic. I found a method, tho clunky to autopopulate the Ink tab with the colors in the ai/pdf file. Using the XMP data and smartnames I extracted the colors from the normalzed pdf (based on the Ink Manager settings in Illustrator). Set up...

    Auto populate the Ink Tab

ha ok that is not as straightforward as the Manual states. The ink setting is XML but I need it from XMP. IF I put in the xpath to the XMP I have no idea how to get the specifics to load. I was hoping more for using smartnames to fill in the inks like the rest of the fields.

    Auto populate the Ink Tab

Thanks, I will give it a try tomorrow. Sounds promising. I have already brought the inks into a workflow parameter via XMP smartname so this should be an easy step to add. I will let everyone know how it goes.

    Auto populate the Ink Tab

Does anyone know a way, either directly or from an out of the box idea, to auto populate the INK tab in pilot from a illustrator file (or pdf). The job would already exist in pilot so it couldn't be from job creation. Even if the data could be put into a Workflow Parameter would be ok, tho not...
