7cp with Equinox - which Pantone Solid colors are the least accurate?

Hello! Question for printers using Equinox to print in 7cp: are there any specific Pantone Solid colors that don't reproduce well?

We're looking into ArtPro+ with Equinox & PackProof to move into printing 7cp (CMYKOGV), after having landed a large account of multiple items with multiple Pantone spot colors.

Having dealt with the color changes when converting from spot to 4cp, and (years ago) from spot to Hexachrome, we're trying to get a sense of which Pantone Solid Coated inks will not convert well even when using Equinox 7cp.

We're aware that pastels and metallics will not be in gamut. Other than that, we're not sure, and would appreciate any feedback from those currently using Equinox. Thanks in advance!

Your software should be able to generate the Pantone Plus fan guide with ECG (Extended Color Gamut) and list the Delta E (dE) for each solid to process match.

Update--our Esko rep was able to generate a .txt file showing the expected dE for the Pantone book (I believed based on a generic GRACoL 2013 profile).

You will find that Pastels, Colors containing Pantone Purple , some greens and of course Metallics will give the most variance. For Metallic inks we offer Color-Logic as an option. So our 7-Color Process gang runs ore based on CMYKOGV + Color Logic Silver.
