Position Summary
The Account Manager serves as the primary contact for external and internal customers. He/She is responsible for providing accurate, relevant, and timely information from the customer and sales representative to the appropriate production departments. He/She must understand the customer’s quality expectations and insure that Smith Print meet or exceed those expectations.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities Including the following, other duties may be assigned:
· Accept and review jobs with sales representatives. Compares actual specifications with estimates or other documents, corrects deficiencies if necessary and completes specific order entry processes.
· Prepares a tentative schedule with production manager that will insure meeting all commitments and distributing them appropriately. Approve any scheduling changes needed to occur.
· Monitor progress on every job under his/her control and take whatever corrective action necessary to maintain the schedule commitments of the jobs.
· Be the single “go-to” person for job information and be available to answer questions from customers and other staff members concerning any job under his/her control.
· Clearly communicate information to those needed to know within the company and the client to insure all components (proofs, samples, special instructions, etc.) are provided.
· Review proofs for accuracy and compliance to customer’s expectations before they are released. Clearly communicate to production side of company with any changes to the proof. Responsible for assuring that proofs are returned in a timely manner to comply with production schedule while guaranteeing a signature/authorization from customer.
· Keep Sales Representatives and clients informed of the job’s progress on a timely basis.
· Advise production managers of any need for outside purchases in advance. Provide all necessary information and material needed.
· Inform Production Manager of any press checks and create schedule that works for the customer. Insure that a Smith Print Representative will adequately cover it.
· Help resolve all concerns/complaints the customer may have in order to reach an understanding of how and why the problem/s arose. Documentation will be prepared and used to assure the problem does not occur.
· Responsible for some post job activity (review of job ticket prior to billing, return of customer furnished material, etc.)
· Attend Production Meetings to review what jobs are being shipped and printed.
· Write out job ticket information for each specific job assigned to Account Manager.
Qualifications:
· Education: Must have a bachelor’s degree.
· Should have minimum of five years experience in customer service capacity.
· Three to four years customer service experience.
· Knowledgeable of all phases within the print production process.
· Must be able to read and understand both technical and operational information.
· Demonstrate proficiency in PC and general computer operations.
· Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities concurrently.
· Ability to work with problems and deal with a variety of variables.
· Ability to identify critical issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
· Must have excellent communication skills.
· Experience with EFI Logic a plus.
