Algae in the Water System

Anyone find tablets or a solution to put in your water to keep algae out of the water system?

Is this for the press or plate processor?
We used to put a tablespoon of bleach into the rinse water in the processor each morning, kept it pristine

we used bleach when I was running a newsprint web press, did a thorough clean of the Dampening System every week and the stuff that came out looked liked new life forms

Press chiller system needs rust inhibitors and glycol if its a closed system, press fountain system can be cleaned with bleach. flush system with warm water and mild bleach liquid. Make sure system has been flushed again with clean water before filling with fountain solution chemistry

Most modern fountain solutions have an algicide mixed into their formula. If its not enough, you might ask the manufacturer to either mix you a special batch with more in it, or get suggestions from them as to what to use.
