Avantra 25 -line

I have a problem whith Avantra 25 OLP. On the film at begin appears line always on the same position. (look pic1).
Mirror is clean.

Your image does not carry any usefull information.
Photo picture (with a good magnification) could bring more info.
It could be either laser beam or a scratch on the film.
Sorry for our helplessness at this moment.

Ok miki, so I understand it's only when you put two pages on a flat the carriage jams. Have you tried to looks inside the imagesetter ? Shut down the machine then open the right hand door, take out the drum cover (black, 4 latches), get a portable light and check for film caught inside or debris. If drum is clear stretch your arm inside the drum and pick up the traverse system and pull it to the maximum right side, should be a perfectly smooth movement. Come back with results.

On the traverse system was accumulated dirt
I cleaned it and now it works normaly.

Line on the film is generated in the OLP developer and not in Avantra
I Corrected this, for now is ok.

miki5c, that's your responsibility, as an operator, to keep the machine in good shape, providing a Prev. Maintenance regulary!

You can lubricate the rails with only one type of oil, but from my 15 years service experience with Avantras, it's better to keep the rails dry and clean (as V-shape groove, as opposite flat rail surface) to avoid encoder's wrong reading of the carriage distance passed.

Let's start from beginning:

Let's go back few pages. What did you do on the machine in order to get rid of line in first place?
The line was always on one area. right? Can I say close to carriage home position?

Let me know where did you get the line on the film? what procedures did you take in order to get rid of it? I am not asking what did you do on the processor. What did you do on your engine?

One more point: You said you cleaned the spinner. Did you close the Shroud on the spinner properly? Is it on place? Please recheck and let me know!

can be the traverse lubricated

As Vlad says lubrication is not needed but most times I put a drop of good quality oil on each of the bearing rails every half year to keep them corrosion free, I use maccurat 32 or similar quality thin oil. If you want, you can clean these two carriage bearings with isopropyl passing the carriage left to right repeatedly, then allow to evaporate at least one hour and lubricate. Remember just one tiny drop is enough as too much oil will sip through the ends/capilarity and tends to attract dirt.
