The Kodak Digimaster 150ppm machine will be upgradeable later in 2009 to do single-pass duplex by adding a second print engine. The effective per-page speed when printing duplex will be 300ppm, making it the fastest cut-sheet production printer in the industry when released (assuming nothing else changes). Best of all, this will be a field upgrade, meaning that if you buy a Digi 150 today, you'll be able to upgrade it to the 300ppm version by buying just the 2nd print engine. What a refreshing, customer-friendly strategy.

As I said we chose not to go with the Oce' for a variety of reasons but one of the most compelling things about the oce 60 series other than the simultaneous duplexing was that every tray in the machine can be set to function a pre or post fuser inserter. It makes a great cost argument.

The two downsides with oce were one the blacks and two getting an actual purchase price from them was like pulling teeth from a cranky rabid pitbull.
