Hi guy,
We recently purchase konica 1100 pro B/W machine with PF 709 feeder unit. On feeder unit brochure, they say that it can do mix media, mixplex...
But i can't find how? when asking reseller, they say machine can't do it, so why on brochure catalogue KM say it can do it with PF709 unit installed?
We need to use this function when printing on carbonless paper.
Thanks

Thanks cyanman, but on document of 150 pages, i think i will be hard to specify tray for each page.
I need for exemple to print a document of 150pages, and i need to print three color like one sheet white, second red, third yellow, then white, red, yellow...

When you define page exceptions, you can enter lists of page numbers, so red paper could be assigned to 2,5,8,11,14...

It's fairly laborious to set up if there is a long list, but you can then save the configuration to use on other jobs. I'm not sure if there is a limit on definitions; we haven't run into it yet.

The page programmer for my printers lets me repeat a rule. So I can just say "Page 1, NCR White, Page 2 NCR Yellow, Page 3 NCR Pink". then I just highlight them and click repeat rule and it does it to the entire job.
There's a feature on yours that says "repeat pages", but I'm not sure if it will do the same thing.

I have a PF 709 on a KM c1100 and I run NCR as well. You can run collated NCR, this is fastest, or you can run the different colors out of the 3 drawers. I have attached an image of where I setup the separate drawers in the fiery.

HI pacart...he has a Pro 1100 which is a b/w printer and it doesn't have a Fiery...not the C1100. But yes, I agree to buy pre-collated NCR is always best!

slimbh...Did you get this figured out? I am a production print specialist for Konica Minolta and you can definitely run mixed media on our devices. In fact, the recommendation that cyanman made is one of the features our customers love. Let me know if you have questions and I'd be happy to help.

Hi pacart, as wheeler say we has PRO 1100 which is B/W machine. No fiery installed.
Also feeder installed is PF 709 which is smaller version of PF707 installed on 1085 and 1100, is not the same feeder. We have 1085 machine with PF 707 feeder, and we can work mix media on it with fiery, But on pro 1100 we can't find how it work.

Hi jwheeler, if we work as cayanman say it will be laborious so we ask if there is more fast feature to do it, like make machine take one sheet from each tray for each page of the file ans repeat operation until all page printed.

I too work for Konica Minolta, as a production solutions consultant, and I can tell you that chrisg42 is right. You must use the PS Plugin driver for Pro1100 and enter your per-page settings manually. There is no way to indicate in the driver very simply that every third page is on yellow (e.g. "2,5,8,...") and every third page after that is on pink (e.g. "3,6,9,..."). The only good news here, if you can call it that, is that you don't have to do it for the white pages, because those would be set up as the default paper for the entire job. Laborious, yes. But Fiery has nothing better either.

Fiery does... Define record length in the VDP tab is a lifesaver for ncr work!!

easiprint...can you elaborate on this a bit? I'd like to know so I can share with my customers. My understanding is that you would still have to input 1,4,7,10...etc in the case that this post is about. Is there a way to automatically tell it "every 3rd page"?

I assume he means the exception page are entered on a per-record basis, not the absolute page numbers in the whole job. So, assuming page 1 of 3 is the default (white) paper of the job, that's not a paper exception. But a page exception would have to be indicated for page 2 of the record, and for page 3. Then the pattern repeats for every record.

Pulling from different drawers can also be slow ( at least it is for us) the very best way is to use collated paper.

Sorry for not replying - only just seen this!

If your job is set up for example, 1,1,1, 2,2,2 3,3,3, 4,4,4, 5,5,5, 6,6,6 etc..
Set up your job in mixed media for page 1 to pick from tray 1, page 2 from tray 2 and 3 from tray 3
Then in VDP, define record length to be 3, and it will print the whole numbered file, repeating the tray sequence.

Thanks easiprint,
We will try it.
