CIP4 JDF Integration Matrix

Exactly. In our search for a new MIS that is JDF compliant/compatible they've all said we can do that, we can do that but when you start asking have they done it? Can I talk to a customer who has this integrated? They tend to turn cold and don't call you back for a few weeks . ;)

You need to look a lot deeper than a little check box on a matrix. Getting these check boxes is very easy, but getting real value and robust integration is a different matter. Caveat Emptor

Mark's right - those check boxes can be deceptively easy to get, and claims get pretty vague, pretty quick! Always find a customer who has gone through the process. Although no two installs are the same, you can get a real good picture of how tightly they were able to integrate.

Good Luck with your research!

CIP4 JDF Integration Matrix

The CIP4 JDF Integration Matrix is better then nothing, but is missing a lot of vendors and products. In addition, many of the entries do not specify the product or version. For example EFI is listed but does not specify which MIS products (ie Hagen, Monarch, PSI, Logic, etc.) You really need to look at each MIS product, machine, and integration before coming to any conclusions. This Matrix is a good starting point.
