Combining 4 cgats files into a single EG 7 color (multichannel) ICC

I am hoping someone can help me with this.
I am looking for a way to take 4 cgats txt files from Esko's Equinox and combine them into a single 7 channel ICC profile. I know I can do this with GMG's OpenColor but don't have a license for that. Is there any other options or software that I can combine these?

The txt file are CMYK, CGYK, CMVK and OMYK. My rip will take a 7 color ICC but not multiple 4 color ICCs like Equinox does (and Esko has not been helpful). I have received combined profiles from the printer, so I know it can be done, but can't seem to find out how people have done it.

I've been told it can be done in Devil 4, but I don't see how.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Hi jimbo

I was tasked with the same problem and have developed a method of combining multiple 4-color EG .icc profiles into a single 7-color .icc profile. PM me and I can help you out.

Just curious, why is the 7 colour condition characterised as 4x4 instead of 1x7?

It has to do with Esko's Equinox software for doing EG profiles on their RIP.

The way their RIP works is that it takes the 4 separate ICC and uses all of them at the same time in the rip. It's something to do with CGATS compliance with the ICCs only being 4 colors but it's a pain for anyone that does not have a Esko rip.

It is a hassle in other ways too, such as if there is a issue with the combined ICC, the printer cannot just output a new one. They have to output all four and rebuild them. Another issue is that there is a lot of missing data since for example, they replace yellow with violet, so if the violet overprints yellow or traps to it, the rip has no idea what color it will actually make and tends to come up with some crappy brown color.
