DOS RIP Help

Hi all
I'm running an old Level 1 Hyphen RIP to a Linotronic L300 and it has started to give me grief!
Recently, only when outputting larger files. It will interpret the page and then I get "Data error Writing C Drive' When I do a check Disk it comes up with C:/RIP/Swap.Fil Allocation error, size adjust.
Smaller files fly through no problems so I'd say the RIP is OK .
Could a dodgy hard drive give this symptom? It is ancient.

Are there any out there old enough to remember running anything this ancient?
I'm a mac man so navigating MS Dos 6 is not comfortable for me.

Any clues would be great.

Cheers
Glenn

Is the disk full or almost full by chance? It sounds like on larger files it might be running out of disk space. If that's not the problem it's probably the hard drive starting to fail. They don't last forever.

Thanks Joe

I think it maybe the hard drive (17yrs old!) , I'll try and source a antique hard drive and load dos6 and rip on it and see what happens.

cheers

Glenn
