Down sizing, need recommendation

I'm down sizing. Sold my building. Moving into my house. I have sold my Xerox Versant 180, and Xerox D125. Outsourcing most of my work, but still have a few customers that order 8 1/2 X 11 forms (case orders).

I maintained my Xerox's myself. Looking for a recommendation for single machine (color + B&W). Easy to maintain.

All recommendations welcome,

Ralph

I'd look at something like the Xerox C60/C70 over the C75/J75. The C75/J75 are pretty old now.

One advantage of the C60/C70 is that they run on standard power outlets whereas the Versant doesn't. Not sure about the C75/J75's. The fuser in the C60/C70 is also a user replaceable unit and it relatively cheap compared to even just the belt in the Versant models.

I have a friend who runs a C60 in his house and he's pretty happy with it. If I was moving back home, it's definitely the way I'd go.

Honestly, I'd consider the brand new Primelink C9200. It's the same class as the C60, but can run 400 gsm (350 gsm duplex). I've heard great things about the machine, and the click costs could be quite attractive if you indicate to the sales rep you are looking to buy used, especially around this time of year when they are looking to sell machines!

Do you mind me asking why you sold the V180?

To me that would have been a straight forward move to keep so wondering why you didn't.
To answer your question, both my Xerox machines have issues. The V180 recently threw a code. Did the research. Replaced a board. Initial error fixed, second error showed up. Called Xerox for service; $437 for the first 30 minutes, $79 each 15 minutes after that (without parts). They said they would call back to give me an estimate on the average cost to fix the second error; never called back. Apparently Xerox doesn't want me as a customer.

What was the second error?

If you are going to sign up for a maintenance plan, I would look at a Versant or a C9200, but if you are going to do the maintenance yourself, I would not go for a Versant.

I think a C60 or C9065 would be a better option, as they are much easier to maintain and less expensive. With the Versant, you will have problems with the second BTR, the fuser and various manufacturing faults, such as with the waste cleaning system, a repair that requires many hours of work.

I have two Versant 80s and a C75 without a maintenance contract, and without a doubt, the C75 gives us far fewer problems than the other two.
