Duplo dc615 guillotine blades

Hi.

The cutting blade is getting blunt and is starting to miscut the cards and leaving the edge uncut. This is more noticeable when running a gutter of around 5mm. Can the blades be removed and sharpened by the people who do my guillotine blades or are they one shot blades and must be renewed?

Thanks
Chris

Blade height? Like a guillotine, when you sharpen the blade, you reduce the height of the blade and its new position must be calibrated. I think...

Thanks. I have spoken with Duplo who don't sell the blades separately but do sell a whole guillotine module for £550 which isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I see no harm in attempting to remove the blades and getting them sharpened and see if it works out.

Be careful attempting to remove the blades. My Duplo technicians have tried a few times and the screw heads easily break off. We won't do it anymore.

would wd-40 or other lubricant help? how do you get a screw out without the head?
It does not. They are put in with lock tight to keep from coming apart under normal usage. My advise is use the cutter until the blades aren't good enough for your work and then replace the cutter unit. We see cutter units go anywhere from 2-6 million cuts depending on the work you are doing.

Thanks. Where do I find the cutter counts?

It is only available in the maintenance mode screen. Your local dealer that sold the equipment can help with that.

I have checked the counters in service and mine has done around 2.9million it probably deserves a new cutter unit!

I forgot to mention. Duplo is starting to not support older DC-615, DC-645 units. When they run out of parts they will be GONE. If you have an older machine like a 615 you plan on keeping...go ahead and buy the cutter while you can even if you don't install it yet. We have DC-645 customer that need cutters and they are not available. Basically the unit becomes non-functioning due to quality of output. Same is true with rubber rollers.
